Annual General Meeting information

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) takes place next Monday, March 16th after training in the Pavilion at Coombe Dingle. The meeting will start at approximately 8.10 and if you want to turn up in your sweaty running kit, that’s fine. There will be some sandwiches there for you to fill up on.

We know that some of the AGM content can be a less than thrilling to sit through, but there are some things that we have to do to ensure the smooth running of the club over the next year.

EVERY committee position is up for re-election, so if you want to stand against any of the current post holders, make yourself known on the night when we go through the process of electing the officers. The following people have said that they’re happy to stand for re-election:

Being on the committee will give you an opportunity to get involved with the running of the club and make it better for our 400 or so members.

Is there anything you think the club should be spending its money on? Bring it up during the “Presentation of the Club accounts”.

Do you know why the club enters certain races e.g. the Midlands Road Relays, the Gwent League Cross Country? Are they the right ones for the club? That’s what we’ll talk about in “What races we run and why”.

What is the club’s direction? What are our aims? Last year committee members, coaches and some athletes had a club development meeting to think about this. We’ve implemented some things but want your views too. We’ll do this in the “Development plan discussion”.

Did you know that our lease on the Blaise Castle Pavilion runs out in September 2016? We need to start making plans about what we do and we’d like to hear what you think. This is what the “Discussion on the future of the Blaise pavilion” is for.

If there’s anything else you want to raise you can do it in the “Any other Business?” section at the end of the meeting.

Please make every effort to attend, the AGM is normally our only opportunity to get together as a club to discuss really important stuff and things.
