Charity Run and Mob Matches

Our charity run is on Monday 21st August and is for all groups - juniors and seniors. This is a social run. Please wear your club kit. Cake sale in the club jouse afterwards so please bake something. All proceeds go to our selected charity, yet to be selected.

Mob Matches

The summer sees two mob matches Tuesday 27th the Aztec West 5km - enter online or on the night and the Friday 14th July the Avon 10km mob match hosted by GWR on the towpath series course - £2 on the night to the Westbury team manager.

Mob matches are a friendly inter club races - they are all about getting lots of your club members out so whatever group you run in please come along and join in.

Club Roles

The club runs successfully due to the input of many people in many ways. We have developed the committee over the years to ensure roles are manageable. Sub groups such as the club championship, pavillion, Wipeout and Blaise Blazer have been introduced to share the workload and get more people involved in smaller ways.

We currently need a club secretary. This is to be the point of contact for the club. We also someone to circulate the race results onto the website - as it really important that we share and celebrate club members achievements and participation.

If you think you can help please contact manager.women@westburyharriers.co.uk for more information

Parkrun Club day – Saturday 1st July 2017

Over the 38 months of its existence, Pomphrey Hill parkrun (www.parkrun.org.uk/pomphreyhill/) in Mangotsfield, South Gloucestershire has welcomed runners from 352 different running clubs.

In celebration of our common love of running and the diversity of running clubs in the Bristol/Bath/South Gloucestershire area, we have designated Saturday 1st July 2017 as a “Club Day” parkrun; all runners will be encouraged to wear their club kit for the run and Club leaders and members are welcome to bring club flags, banners, race flyers and anything else they wish to display/promote/flaunt.

We believe that “Club Day” will be a great opportunity to meet old friends and make new ones whilst promoting the benefits of being a running club member to those who are not members of clubs at present; children are welcome too!

We would love to welcome you and your club members to Pomphrey Hill parkrun; you don’t need to do anything to be part of “Club Day” except:

 encourage your club members to come along
 remind your members that to participate in a parkrun they need to register with parkrun (www.parkrun.org.uk) and bring along a printed barcode to the event
 advise those new to parkrun that there is a pre-run briefing at 8.45am which will tell them everything they need to know about parkrun
 bring along any promotional material to promote membership of your club or the races you host

Note that parkruns are runs not races and whilst times and finishing positions are recorded, a parkrun is more of a social run with friends rather than competitive event.

If you have any questions regarding Club Day, please get in touch via email: pomphreyhilloffice@parkrun.com

Kind Regards
The Core Team
